Malta is ready to welcome the 6th MED TOURISM FORUM
The Mediterranean Tourism Foundation is an independent and impartial
international organisation for public-private cooperation. It aims to
increase the potential of sustainable tourism growth across the
Mediterranean, by transforming the region into an area of peace, cooperation
and prosperity through regional cooperation and tangible projects including
commercial initiatives. The Mediterranean Tourism Foundation (MTF) was
founded just over 5 years ago, on the initiative of the Malta Hotels and
Restaurants Association (MHRA), and since then it has grown into a regional
forum of tourism destination countries
The Foundation organises the Mediterranean Tourism Forum which is a yearly
gathering that brings together leaders of society and other stakeholders
holding an interest in Mediterranean tourism and peace. Indeed,

organisations and relevant non-governmental organisations, the most
prominent cultural, societal and thought leaders and disruptive voices come
together with the aim of defining priorities and shaping Mediterranean
tourism agendas. The Forum takes the shape of a Plenary session followed by
various specialised Master Classes and discussion arenas followed in the
evening by the Mediterranean Tourism Gala Awards ceremony. The theme of
The forthcoming Forum will be : MEDITERRANEAN STARS – SUSTAINABLE TOURISM ACTIONS and RENEWAL STRATEGIES
Participation is open to the Foundation’s network organisations, members and
associates, including UNWTO, UfM, FIJET and HOTREC. Indeed, the ongoing
close collaboration with these stakeholders ensures the solution-oriented
substance of the Mediterranean Tourism Forum, as numerous initiatives of
regional importance have been launched during the related events. Last year’
